Let us prepare our hearts!

Reflection on the Message of November 25, 2001

LET US PREPARE OUR HEARTS

“Dear children! In this time of grace, I call you anew to prayer. Little children, pray and prepare your hearts for the coming of the King of Peace, that with His blessing He may give peace to the whole world. Peacelessness has begun to reign in hearts and hatred reigns in the world. That is why, you who live my messages be the light and extended hands to this faithless world that all may come to know the God of Love. Do not forget, little children, I am with you and bless you all. Thank you for having responded to my call.” Message of November 25, 2001

In the message of the last month, Our Lady told us: “Little children, you are chosen to witness peace and joy”, and today she tells us about restlessness in hearts and hatred in the world.

Everyone seeks joy. Everybody wants to be happy and seeks joy. We all want to be happy. The good and the bad are equal in their desire to be happy. The good ones are good to be happy, and the bad ones would not be bad if they would not hope to become happy in such a way. In his Confessions, the great St. Augustin told us: If we all love joy, it is because we have already known it in a mysterious way. If we had not come to know it – if we were not created for it – we would not love it. The one who knocks at the door of a church – even it he does it with violence and anger – does so because he seeks joy. However, we see that the world around us is mostly sad. Sadness and restlessness strangle our throats and almost suffocate us. There are less and less joyful people and joyful Christians. Nietsche has already criticised Christians because their faces were too gloomy frowning.

Sadness and restlessness walk on our streets, in our villages and in our cities. Sadness has even sneaked into our families. Sadness and restlessness infect even our children to whom, instead of joy, we give things to eat, bigger and bigger and more and more ugly toys to destroy. Joy does not come from things, from toys, from food, from cars, motors, techniques, money or pleasure. Our heart and our soul seek the real food. You cannot cheat your soul while giving it things. If you don’t feed it with God and His Word, it will rebel and seek vengeance. Your soul gives you signs like emptiness, lack of meaning, nervousness, aggressiveness, anger against everything and everybody. You have to recognize these signs, you have to learn again to enjoy in little things and to recognize so many things around us – that everything is given, and that we hove not earned or merited anything.

Gospa, our Mother, walks with us for more than twenty years now. By this message, she prepares us for the time of Advent, which is approaching, and she puts in front of our eyes the King of Peace. Restlessness and hatred govern the world, our Mother tells us in this message, and we know and see that very well. And not only in the world, but they sneaked also into human relationships, families, amongst nations. Our Lady shows us the way, she puts into our hands a powerful means with which we can reach peace, if only we want it and seek it. It is not enough to see and to understand the state of your heart and your soul, of your family. It is not enough to know it, as it is of no use to a hungry man to know that bread is good. It is of no use for us to know that God is love, of no use to know that Our Lady is here out for love for us. We have to follow her words, to make the decision, to start today. We need the encounter and the experience of the God of Love. It is useless to curse darkness; let us light a lamp instead, and darkness is already gone. Sometimes it is enough to lift our eyes just a bit above the mud of this world, above our heads, to pronounce a good and positive word, and darkness is already gone. We have to heal our negative, black, tragic thoughts and pronounce pure words, so that God’s health and peace may reach us. It is not enough to say that there is no prayer in my family, that we can never get together, that every one goes his own way and after his own business. If nobody wants, then you start, have the courage to say to God a word of prayer and a cry, so that through you the light may come down, little by little, on those who are with you.

There are many hearts that follow Our Lady’s messages, which she gives to us still today. Our Lady counts on us, who want to hear her messages; she counts on our perseverance, even when we do not see immediately the fruits and successes. Our security is her presence, her words that she is with us in spite of everything. Let us be and let us remain with Her. Peace and good to you.

Allow the Holy Spirit to Lead you!

Our Lady of Medjugorje Message of May 25, 1993 “Dear children! Today I invite you to open yourselves to God by means of prayer so the Holy Spirit may begin to work miracles in you and through you. I am with you and I intercede before God for each one of you because, dear children, each one of you is important in my plan of salvation. I invite you to be carriers of good and peace. God can give you peace only if you convert and pray. Therefore, my dear little children, pray, pray, pray and do that which the Holy Spirit inspires you. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

ALLOW THE HOLY SPIRIT TO LEAD YOU

The most important meaning for faith is really allowing God that He may lead us. He does this by way of the Holy Spirit. To let oneself be led, to listen for God, and to do what He has planned for us is what many people — people who say that they believe — still do not allow themselves to do. For instance, when we are wounded by someone, if we let ourselves be led by God, then we will forgive, and also not loose our patience, even when he has wounded us 70 x 7 times. Jesus tells us to forgive 70 x 7 times, but when we say only after 2 or 3 times that we no longer wish to forgive, then it means that we do not allow God to lead us. And every time, in every sin, the same thing is repeated, because we are failing to allow God to lead us. For instance, someone who does not pray and does not go to Mass, and who does not honor his parents, and who rejects, in one way or another, God’s Commandments, he then fails to allow God to lead him. Why does this happen? Once because we are proud, another time because we are selfish. Pride means in itself the questioning of God: “Who are you to tell me this?” Then it also adds the statement: “I will do this alone, I will do this the way I want to do it.” This pride is the cause of the first sin, and of every sin that anyone has ever committed. Why should man not know what is best for him? …this is what God asked. But pride always says in every situation: “Who are you God? I decide the way I want to decide.” This pride in us is what we must fight with all the means that are available to us by way of the graces that are given us by the Holy Spirit — the Holy Spirit who wishes us to lead us..

Reflection of Our Lady of Medjugorje Message of Sept. 2, 2013 to Mirjana

medjmary“Dear children; I love you all. All of you, all of my children, all of you are in my heart. All of you have my motherly love and I desire to lead all of you to come to know God’s joy.

To know this joy is to receive the love of Our Lord and to be able to walk among the chaos feeling the His peace around us. Let us pray for this peace to surround us so that we may feel the love Our Lady is sharing with us. With the Love of Our Lady we can spread God’s joy.

This is why I am calling you. I need humble apostles who, with an open heart, will accept the Word of God and help others to comprehend the meaning of their life along side God’s word. To be able to do this, my children, through prayer and fasting you must learn to listen with the heart and to learn to keep submitting yourselves.

Our Blessed Mother cares for us so much that she shows us how to do it. We must keep our hearts open and be willing to accept the gifts and graces of Our Lord. As a mother would, she is teaching us. With prayer and fasting we can learn to listen to God’s word and die to self to live for Our Lord.

You must learn to keep rejecting everything that distances you from God’s word and to yearn only for that which draws you closer to it. Do not be afraid. I am here. You are not alone.

This is important, we must detach ourselves from anything that draws us away from God. Sometimes this is hard, sometimes we don’t know how to do this and sometimes it is just easier to ignore and keep doing what we are doing. Let us remember, Do not be afraid, I am here. You are not alone. Here again we have the tools which Our Blessed Mother has given us, prayer and fasting.

I am imploring the Holy Spirit to renew and strengthen you. I am imploring the Holy Spirit that, as you help others, you too may be healed. I am imploring Him that, through Him, you may be God’s children and my apostles.

Let us remember as we walk this conversion of the heart, we draw closer to Our Lady, Our Lord and The Holy Spirit. Our Blessed Mother is praying for us, Our Blessed Mother is interceding on our behalf, Our Blessed Mother is guiding us. What more could we ask for?

Then with great concern Our Lady said:

For the sake of Jesus, for the sake of my Son, love those whom He has called and long for the blessing only from the hands which He has consecrated. Do not permit evil to come to reign. Anew I repeat – only along side your shepherds will my heart triumph. Do not permit evil to separate you from your shepherds. Thank you.”

Let us always remember to pray for our shepherds!

Our Lady’s Message, January 25, 1996 with a reflection by Fr. Slavko

JANUARY 25, 1996: “Dear Children, today I invite you to decide for peace. Pray to God that He will give you true peace. Live peace in your hearts and you will understand, dear children, that peace is God’s gift. Dear children, without love you cannot live peace. The fruit of peace is love and the fruit of love is forgiveness. I am with you and I am inviting all of you, little children, to first forgive in the family and then you will be able to forgive others. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

Before we begin with our thoughts about this message, let me, dear readers, remind you of the Christmas message. Last month we were called to unite ourselves with Jesus and to decide for Him. Jesus became Child and Bread and, in that way, did everything Himself to become united with us. Now it is for us, in the evangelical sense, to become children and bread ourselves. For us remains the great assignment, in the manner of John the Baptist, to become ever smaller so that Jesus can, all the time, grow ever bigger in us. Jesus is the Light, the Way, the Truth, Mercy, Peace and Love. The more we unite ourselves with Him, the more we will be filled with Light, with Peace, with Truth and with Love. May our path with Mary direct us there.

As I already said, our path with Mary leads us to Jesus and to an even deeper unity with Him. For this reason this first message of the year is again very important. Mary has come to help us on the path to Jesus — Jesus who is Peace and who can give peace.

Today I Invite You To Decide For Peace

Without our own decision for peace, peace cannot be given to us. This decision for peace immediately has tangible results. To clarify perhaps, let us think of a student who decides for getting good grades in his studies. In such a decision a constant flow of studying is also included, for otherwise the decision for good grades no longer has a reason or purpose. So, dear reader, if you now wish to make the decision for peace, you too should become aware that this decision primarily includes the love, the forgiveness, the humility and the courage to offer one’s hand to all others. Let us again refer to Pope John Paul II’s Encyclical, Gospel of Life. There he calls upon us all to respect, to serve and to love every life. When we become conscious of these conditions, then we will also understand why peace has not yet become a reality. We are all aware of how often our decisions are frail ones. Mary knows this and so she tells us what else we need to do, and that is to…

Pray That God Gives You True Peace

If we decide for peace, then this one more condition must be added to the other conditions. God is always ready to work along with our decisions, always ready to take our decisions seriously and always ready to start with us from the beginning again. This is the reason that Mary repeatedly calls us to peace. God is patient with every one of us, including those with whom we have already written off and ignored. In His love God is so very big toward us that He is more patient with us as even we are with ourselves. When we no longer have the courage to start anew and when we think that nothing will work anymore, He, on the other hand, never thinks in this way! In His love God is simply not to be challenged or tired. Mary calls us to…

Live Peace In Our Hearts and You Will Understand… That Peace Is The Gift of God

God’s love for us is the reason that He wishes to give us peace and He merely waits for our decision. If God did not love us, He would lose patience with us. It is also this way with us and ourselves, with us and others and with us and God. Without love, peace is simply impossible; and that is why our Lady continues with…

Without Love You Cannot Live Peace

Today there are so many people who attempt to create peace without love for God, without love for others and without love for their own lives. It is for this reason that there is so much terrible destruction of individuals, of families and of communities — destruction that all together has even put the existence of the whole world into serious doubt. At the beginning of the apparitions, Mary told the visionaries that her Son, Jesus, had sent her to help us. God loves what He created, and therefore He calls upon us to work along with Him. Our cooperation with Him is the condition without which nothing will work. St Augustine said “God created you without you, but He cannot save you without you.” Once we have decided for peace, we are in full cooperation with God, because it is His will that we have peace. As peace is impossible without love, so too is love, the fruit of peace. The good chain of good reactions goes on and on as Our Lady here tells us…

The Fruit of Peace Is Love and The Fruit of Love Is Forgiveness

One is the condition for the other. One cannot decide only partially for peace, just as one cannot decide only partially for God. To make a lasting decision, all conditions for it must also be accepted. Again, Mary, as mother and teacher, reminds us…

I Am With You

…and with her as guide, one must again start working at peace and do so decisively first and…

Before Anything Else Forgive In The Family And Then You Will Be Able To Forgive Others

All of us have had the experience that sometimes those who are most distant from us seem also to be those whom we forgive and whom we love more easily. This is a deception. Love first brings peace into the family and community, and only then can it spread out yet further. May it in this coming month begin again and spread out yet further with this message. Already before the next message Lent will have begun, and so this message also ought to serve as introduction and guide for us to enter into it.

God, our Father, we thank You that You love us and that in Your love You offer us peace. We beseech You, as Mary calls upon us to do, give us true peace that only You can give. Forgive us that we often expected peace from others and therefore remained without peace. Give all of us the strength to accept the conditions for peace. Give us Your Spirit that we with Mary, as Mary herself did, accept and live Your will. Free us from our weakness and from all fear and distrust, so that we, already today and today again, along with Mary can offer You our cooperation. Bless the visionaries, bless the Parish of Medjugorje, bless all pilgrims and bless the entire world. Oh Father, give us true peace that love will bring us, and give us love so that we can grow in forgiveness and reconciliation. We thank You. Bless us because You are the Father! Amen.

Our Lady of Medjugorje Message, Jan 25, 2011 with Reflection by Sister Isabel Bettwy

January 25, 2011

Dear children! Also today I am with you and I am looking at you and blessing you, and I am not losing hope that this world will change for the good and that peace will reign in the hearts of men. Joy will begin to reign in the world because you have opened yourselves to my call and to God’s love. The Holy Spirit is changing a multitude of those who have said “yes.” Therefore I desire to say to you: thank you for having responded to my call.

A Little Reflection

It’s been almost thirty years since Our Lady in Medjugorje began to ask for our conversion through prayer, penance, fasting, repentance and reconciliation. Little do we realize what will happen as we listen and follow her requests. In this message, Our Lady tells us that the Holy Spirit is changing a multitude of those who have said “yes.” Conversion begins with each individual. Our Lady has told us the peace will come through personal conversion, not through the negotiating tables. Sometimes we wonder if our prayers are doing anything to bring peace to the world. We may not give up hope. Our Lady has not given up hope! We can be instruments for joy! What an encouragement from Our Lady. Let us press on and go deeper with the Lord and allow the Holy Spirit to use us to begin a reign of joy in the world.
