Medjugorje Stone – Read Bible Daily

Usually Our Lady comes to the visionaries happy and joyful. On one occasion, while talking about the Bible, She was crying. Our Lady said: “You have forgotten the Bible.”

Message of October 18, 1984 “Dear children! Today I call on you to read the Bible every day in your homes and let it be in a visible place so as always to encourage you to read it and to pray. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

August 25, 1993 “Dear children! I want you to understand that I am your Mother, that I want to help you and call you to prayer. Only by prayer can you understand and accept my messages and practice them in your life. Read Sacred Scripture, live it, and pray to understand the signs of the times. This is a special time, therefore, I am with you to draw you close to my heart and the heart of my Son, Jesus. Dear little children, I want you to be children of the light and not of the darkness. Therefore, live what I am telling you. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

Fr. Jozo said this about the Bible “The Bible which illuminates the path in the dense fog of ideologies, is the fourth stone for the Christian of today. I am sure you know where the salt is, where the flour is, and where to find the sugar in the kitchen. But where is the Bible in your home? When do you read the Bible with your family? The Bible is not one one of many books, it is the Christian’s flag. Deprived of the Bible, the Christian is no longer the same person. The Bible is born from the heart of the Lord; it is His Word. Therefore it must remain in first place within the family. It must be set in a place of honour, and that place must be sacred for us. It must be the source of our prayer. The Bible illuminates the Christian’s walk amid doubt and conflicting ideologies today.”

Read your Bible today!

Medjugorje Stone – Pray the Rosary Daily

Message of August 25, 1997 “Dear children! God gives me this time as a gift to you, so that I may instruct and lead you on the path of salvation. Dear children, now you do not comprehend this grace, but soon a time will come when you will lament for these messages. That is why, little children, live all of the words which I have given you through this time of grace and renew prayer, until prayer becomes a joy for you. Especially, I call all those who have consecrated themselves to my Immaculate Heart to become an example to others. I call all priests and religious brothers and sisters to pray the rosary and to teach others to pray. The rosary, little children, is especially dear to me. Through the rosary open your heart to me and I am able to help you. “Thank you for having responded to my call.”

The Holy Rosary is such a powerful weapon against evil, that armed with the Rosary in our hearts and the beads in our hands,  we can even stop wars. If we only knew how powerful this prayer is – we would never want to put the beads down. When we pray the Holy Rosary, we enter, mind, body, and soul into a rich spiritual treasure. It is made up of 150 Hail Marys, a number which significantly corresponds to the 150 Psalms; 15 mysteries of the life of Jesus and Mary.

The Holy Mother Church received the Rosary in its present form in 1214 in a miraculous way, when Our Lady appeared to Saint Dominic and gave it to him as a powerful means of converting the heretics and other sinners.  Since then the devotion spread around the world with incredible and miraculous results.

Pope Pius XI said this about the Rosary: “The Rosary is a powerful weapon to put the demons to flight and to keep oneself from sin…. If you desire peace in your hearts, in your homes, and in your country, assemble each evening to recite the Rosary. Let not even one day pass without saying it, no matter how burdened you may be with many cares and labors.”

St. Louis de Montfort said : “If you say the Rosary faithfully until death, I do assure you that, in spite of the gravity of your sins, you shall receive a never-fading crown of glory.”

Promise of Our Blessed Mother “The soul which recommends itself to me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall not perish”.

The word Rosary means “Crown of Roses”. Our Lady has revealed to several people that each time they say a Hail Mary they are giving her a beautiful rose and that each complete Rosary makes her a crown of roses. The rose is the queen of flowers, and so the Rosary is the rose of all devotions and it is therefore the most important one.

When you pray the Rosary one must be in a state of grace or at very least be fully determined to give up mortal sin.

Benefits of the Holy Rosary

1. It gradually gives us a perfect knowledge of Jesus Christ.
2. It purifies our souls, washing away sin.
3. It gives us victory over all our enemies.
4. It makes it easy for us to practice virtue.
5. It sets us on fire with love of Our Lord.
6. It enriches us with graces and merits.
7. It supplies us with what is needed to pay all our debts to God
and to our fellow men; and finally, it obtains all kinds of graces for us from Almighty God.

Blessings of the Holy Rosary

The dead (the Holy Souls) have their pains eased by suffrages.

How to Pray the Rosary:

 PRAYERS OF THE HOLY ROSARY

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

APOSTLES’ CREED

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell; the third day He arose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting. Amen.

OUR FATHER

Our father, who art in heaven; hallowed by Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. Amen.

HAIL MARYHail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

GLORY BE TO THE FATHER

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

FATIMA PRAYER

After each decade say the following prayer requested by the Blessed Virgin Mary at Fatima:

“O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to Heaven, especially those who have most need of your mercy.”

HAIL, HOLY QUEEN

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy! our life, our sweetness and our hope! To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve; to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary!

V. Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God.
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

O GOD, whose only begotten Son, by His life, death, and resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life, grant, we beseech Thee, that meditating upon these mysteries of the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise, through the same Christ Our Lord. Amen.

Power of the Holy Rosary- Fr Schiffer and seven other priests survived Hiroshima by praying the Rosary daily.

“Realize the power in your hand with the Rosary, for in your hands you hold the power of God. If you do not recognize the Rosary, can you expect to be recognized by My Son? How much can you expect? Why do you hide My Rosary? It was with a Mother’s loving heart that I chose to give you these pearls of Heaven that you reject.
“Woe to all dedicated who seek to remove these from the little ones’ hands, for their punishment will be metered in accordance to it!
“Why has sophisticated man cast aside these tokens of My love? Those who remain true to My Rosary will not be touched by the fires. Gather these treasures,
My children, for the time will come that you will not find them on the counters of your stores.” – Our Lady of the Roses, October 6, 1970

Eight Jesuit priests survived the searing hurricane of blast and gamma rays during the atomic bomb explosion in Hiroshima, Japan, in 1945.  They were in a rectory only 8 blocks from the blinding center of the nuclear flash. Although everyone within a mile radius perished, all survived and they attribute their survival to the Rosary and living the Fatima message.

At 2:45 a.m.  on August 6, 1945, a B-29 bomber took off from the island of Tinian to drop the first atomic bomb on Japan.  At 8:15 a.m. the bomb exploded eight city blocks from the  Jesuit Church of Our Lady’s Assumption in Hiroshima.  Half a million people were annihilated.  However, the church and eight Jesuit fathers stationed there survived (four of the priests were Fathers Hugo Lassalle, Kleinsorge, Cieslik and Schiffer.  According to the experts they “ought to be dead,” being within a one-mile radius of the explosion.  Nine days later on August 15, Feast of Our Lady’s Assumption, U.S.  forces were ordered to cease fire.

This is the incredible story of the late Fr. Hubert Schiffer, as retold by a priest who met him:

I met Fr.  Schiffer in the late 70s at the Tri-City Airport in Saginaw, Michigan, as he was going to give a talk for the Blue Army Novena/Triduum.  As I chauffeured him around he told me stories of his life, especially of the atomic explosion at Hiroshima.  On the morning of August 6, 1945, he had just finished Mass, went into the rectory and sat down at the breakfast table, and had just sliced a grapefruit, and had just put his spoon into the grapefruit when there was a bright flash of light.  His first thought was that it was an explosion in the harbor (this was a major port where the Japanese refueled their submarines.)

Then, in the words of Fr.  Schiffer: “Suddenly, a terrific explosion filled the air with one bursting thunder stroke.  An invisible force lifted me from the chair, hurled me through the air, shook me, battered me, whirled me ’round and ’round like a leaf in a gust of autumn wind.” The next thing he remembered, he opened his eyes and he was laying on the ground.  He looked around and there was NOTHING in any direction: the railroad station and buildings in all directions were leveled to the ground.

The only physical harm to himself was that he could feel a few pieces of glass in the back of his neck.  As far as he could tell, there was nothing else physically wrong with himself.  Many thousands were killed or maimed by the explosion.  After the conquest of the Americans, their army doctors and scientists explained to him that his body would begin to deteriorate because of the radiation.  Many of the Japanese people had blisters and sores from the radiation.  To the doctors amazement, Fr.  Schiffer’s body contained no radiation or ill-effects from the bomb.  Fr.  Schiffer attributes this to devotion to the Blessed Mother, and his daily Fatima Rosary.  He feels that he received a protective shield from the Blessed Mother which protected him from all radiation and ill-effects.  (This coincides with the bombing of Nagasaki where St. Maximilian Kolbe had established a Franciscan Friary which was also unharmed because of special protection from the Blessed Mother, as the Brothers too prayed the daily Rosary and also had no effects from the bomb.) source – http://www.tldm.org/News7/Schiffer.htm

Medjugorje Stone – “Fasting”

“I would like the people to pray along with me these days. And to pray as much as possible! And to fast strictly on Wednesdays and Fridays, and every day to pray at least one Rosary: the joyful, sorrowful and glorious mysteries.”  Message of August 14, 1984

“By fasting as the Blessed Virgin Mary asks of us at Medjugorje, we learn to depend on God, not ourselves. Fasting in any form – from food, alcohol, substances, media, habits, attitudes – is only successful when we come to that inevitable point of need/want/temptation to break the fast. But instead of bending the rules or giving up, Mary is teaching us to pray to the Holy Spirit so that we can and will continue” – Wayne Weible

Remember your Fasting is your gift to God. Whatever you decide to give to the Lord. My teenage daughter Fasts from the Internet and Facebook on Wednesdays, this is a big Fast for her. This is the gift she has decided to give up to the Lord.  Wayne Weible once told me, think of your Fast as a picture for Our Lord and he will put it on his Refrigerator, every child gives a different picture, but no matter what you give to him he places it on his refrigerator.

Remember no matter what we decide to Fast from, temptation will be there. Pray to the Holy Spirit for the strength to stay strong.

Before I visited Medjugorje, I never thought of Fasting except during Lent on Fridays. Through prayers and reading Our Lady’s Messages I understand it now, Fasting is a gift, now I can’t wait to Fast. I feel happy and peaceful to know that I am stepping away from the world and Fasting for the Lord. I look forward to my Wednesdays, I fast on Bread and Water (still have my cup of coffee in the morning). I still have not made it to the full Friday Fast, on Fridays I give up something important to me. I am praying and I hope I will be able to Fast on Fridays soon. Taking it slow, is important. Through praying and listening you will know when you are ready for the next step. When I first started fasting, I fasted on Bread and Water for breakfast and lunch. But for Dinner, I had a small cup of soup. I now can Fast for the whole day (still have my cup of coffee in the morning). I am praying on that cup of coffee and I hope to be able to do this for the Lord soon.

It is exciting to give something to the Lord, because he has given us so much. The Gifts and Graces he gives us daily is amazing and Fasting is a great way to say Thank you God for all that you have done. I love you Lord.

May the Grace of God be with each and everyone of you.

Five Stones of Medjugorje, Live, Learn and Love them.

Just as God gave David 5 stones with which to defeat Goliath,

Our Lady is giving us 5 Stones or Weapons we can use to defeat satan. They are:

Daily Prayer (Rosary)

Message of June 12, 1986 “Dear children! Today I call you to begin to pray the Rosary with a living faith. That way I will be able to help you. You, dear children, wish to obtain graces, but you are not praying. I am not able to help you because you do not want to get started. Dear children, I am calling you to pray the Rosary and that your Rosary be an obligation which you shall fulfill with joy. That way you shall understand the reason I am with you this long. I desire to teach you to pray. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

Fasting on Wednesday and Fridays

Message of July 21, 1982 “The best fast is on bread and water. Through fasting and prayer one can stop wars, one can suspend the natural laws of nature. Works of charity cannot replace fasting …Everyone except the sick, has to fast.”

Daily Reading of the Bible

Message of October 18, 1984 “Dear children! Today I call on you to read the Bible every day in your homes and let it be in a visible place so as always to encourage you to read it and to pray. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

 Monthly Confession

Message of June 26, 1981 “Make your peace with God and among yourselves. For that, it is necessary to believe, to pray, to fast, and to go to confession.”  Message of November 7, 1983 “Do not go to confession through habit, to remain the same after that. No, it is not good. Confession should give an impulse to your faith. It should stimulate you and bring you closer to Jesus. If confession does not mean anything for you, really, you will be converted with great difficulty.”

 Holy Communion

Message of May 16, 1985 “Dear children! I am calling you to a more active prayer and attendance at Holy Mass. I wish your Mass to be an experience of God. I wish especially to say to the young people: be open to the Holy Spirit because God wished to draw you to Himself in these days when Satan is at work. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

Message of  April 25, 1988 “Dear children! God wants to make you holy. Therefore, through me He is inviting you to complete surrender. Let Holy Mass be your life. Understand that the church is God’s palace, the place in which I gather you and want to show you the way to God. Come and pray. Neither look at others nor slander them, but rather, let your life be a testimony on the way of holiness. Churches deserve respect and are set apart as holy because God, who became man, dwells in them day and night. Therefore, little children, believe and pray that the Father increase your faith, and then ask for whatever you need. I am with you and I am rejoicing because of you conversion and I am protecting you with my motherly mantle. Thank you for having responded to my call.”

Our Lady’s plan is for everybody, not just catholics.  “I have come to tell the world that God exists. He is the fullness of life, and to enjoy this fullness and peace, you must return to God”. Our Lady’s goal is the reign of love, and the return of souls to God. Our Lady tells us that our personal role is “Great”. We cannot do enough to live the messages. We must be willing to abandon ourselves completely. When put in proper perspective, our homes, our money, and our businesses are not nearly as important as gaining eternal life in Heaven after this life.

Matthew 16:25-27 “Whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. What profit would a man show if he were to gain the whole world and destroy himself in the process? What can a man offer in exchange for his very self?”
