Christ in the Home, by James Metcalfe

I like to visit any home . . . Of wood or stone or bricks. . . But it is not a home unless . . .It has a crucifix . . . It may be warm and comfortable . . . As any house can be . . . And there may be a happy and . . . A loving family . . . And there may be companionship . . . And moments made for kissing . . . But if there is no crucifix . . . Then there is something missing . . . There is no evidence that God . . . Is in the home and heart . . . To hold that loving family . . . And never let it part . . . There are no Christmas candles and . . . There are no New Year wicks . . . That bless the home unless they burn . . . Before the crucifix.
